The Grumpy Barbers barbershop is the realization of a dream that Matt had 20+ years ago when he first decided to leave sales and become a barber. The dream has evolved over the years, but at its core is a comfortable & inviting atmosphere where a man can relax and get a quality haircut. We welcome you to give us a try and we are confident that you will find our shop to be just that - comfortable, inviting, and quality!

Who We are
Matt Martin
Matt left the corporate world in 1998 to pursue the art of barbering. Since that time, he has been honing his craft in all types of shops from small 2-chair traditional barbershops in Pennsylvania to the 8 chair full-service men's salon that he managed in Alpharetta, GA. Matt also worked as an American Crew Educator in both the Greater Atlanta Area and Eastern Pennsylvania, teaching salon staff about the benefits and uses of American Crew products for men as well as the American Crew method of cutting men's hair. Matt and his family relocated to the Greater Raleigh in 2012 and Matt has spent the last several years getting to know the wonderful folks of the Triangle and building his business.
Sarah Cho
Sarah, Master Barber, offers a full variety of services, from traditional and modern cuts to beard and mustache trims. She also offers hot neck shaves and kids’ cuts, and has a selection of hair products to recommend.
